This bathroom is designed as a tranquil and immersive space that prioritizes the beauty of the natural surroundings and aims to provide a unique and refreshing experience for its occupants. The tropical timber makes the space warm and adds a touch of luxury to the design.
The prefabricated structure is elevated 60 feet above ground and is nestled among trees. “Harnessing the vast nature around as a salubrious natural ventilating system, the bath area is designed to be open to natural elements. The transparency of the structure allows for a clear view of a distant waterfall, offering a retreat that blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Attention to detail at junctures of different materials played a crucial step in realising the space to its flawless completion,” shares Ravindra Kumar, Principal Architect, Pragrup.
He further adds that Bangkirai Timber Flooring, Wall Panelling, Wooden Slats for the roof, Sadarahalli Stone Trough, Pebbles, and Glass Shower Cubicles complete a thoughtful and well-curated material palette that fits right in the context that the space is nestled in. “Reduced intervention to the site came with challenges of gently resting the habitable plane on pilotis in a densely vegetated and highly contoured site.”
