This bathroom at Canto, located at Vikhroli, Mumbai, is designed to blend glamour with functionality, to create an inviting and memorable experience for guests. “The client’s brief was to craft a washroom that is both Instagrammable and relaxing. To achieve this vision, a black-and-white palette was chosen, enriched with textures and thoughtful details that exude contemporary elegance,” states Minnie Bhatt, Founder and Design Director at Minnie Bhatt Design.
The walls feature a combination of tiles and custom wallpaper designed to complement each other seamlessly. The arched mirror above the vanity counter adds a sophisticated focal point, enhancing the overall aesthetic. The lighting, a defining aspect of the design, accentuates the arch and highlights the textured white surfaces, creating a dramatic and refined ambience.
A metallic gold strip, subtly placed between the tiles and the wallpaper, adds a touch of glamour and a gleaming accent that elevates the design. “We used a ribbed board for the storage shutters below the counter to ensure the space looked detailed with well-thought-out finishes. We created a texture in MDF and painted it white to create a backdrop for the mirror,” shares Bhatt.
The result is a contemporary and glamorous washroom that balances bold design elements with an inviting atmosphere. Every detail, from the custom wallpaper to the gold accents and textured finishes, was thoughtfully curated to ensure the space not only looks stunning but also provides a comfortable and relaxing experience for guests.
