ISH 2025++ Digitalisation and Sustainability in the Building and Construction Industry

As climate challenges and regulatory pressures shape the built environment, the integration of digitalisation and sustainability is driving significant shifts in water, heating, and air management. ISH 2025, on 21st March 2025 in Frankfurt am Main, reflected this transition with a strong industry focus on next-generation heating and air-conditioning systems, as well as intelligent water management solutions. The event saw participation from 163,157 professionals across 150 countries, facilitating discussions on emerging technologies and regulatory frameworks that will influence future architectural and building system strategies.

ISH 2025 brought together professionals to explore advancements in sanitation, heating, cooling, ventilation, and water management. The event emphasized sustainability and integrated building technologies, attracting architects, planners, engineers, and construction professionals. Skilled trades accounted for 30% of attendees, highlighting their role in implementation.

ISH 2025 highlighted the growing intersection of design, functionality, and sustainability, particularly in the bathroom sector. Exhibitors showcased contemporary concepts incorporating soft pastel tones, 3D tiles, and resource-efficient, low-maintenance materials that balance aesthetics with technology.

To better showcase the range of innovations, ISH 2025 introduced a new structure organized into eight solution areas: sanitary spaces, water-bearing systems, installation technology, heat generation, indoor air, intelligent building control, software, and HVAC + Water product manufacturing. This format streamlined navigation for trade visitors, allowing them to easily connect with relevant companies in each sector.

Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO, Messe Frankfurt, said, “Everyone needs clean air, drinking water and a warm home – and this is exactly where our industry comes in. ISH 2025 has powerfully demonstrated that innovative solutions to meet these basic needs have long been available. Our exhibitors have shown that the transition to a sustainable economy is not only vital, but already underway – despite the challenges we currently face. They are developing technologies that improve our daily lives while making them more sustainable.”
