Creating A Spa-like Ambience
The washroom is envisioned as a luxurious retreat, integrating aesthetic finesse with state-of-the-art functionality. The concept revolves around creating a sanctuary of relaxation, blending natural and artistic elements for a timeless design.
The Design Brief and Execution
“The client sought a luxurious and indulgent bathroom space that would serve as both a functional and rejuvenating retreat. The design brief emphasised blending opulence with practicality, incorporating elements that evoke a spa-like ambience within a residential setting. Key requirements included the inclusion of premium fittings, aesthetic materials, and the creation of distinct zones for bathing, relaxation, and functional utilities,” recalls Amit Porwal, Director and Principal Designer, Icon Projects Inspace Pvt. Ltd.
To achieve this, the design features a harmonious integration of textures, lighting, and spatial planning. “The use of mosaic murals, reflective surfaces, and natural stone highlights creates an elegant backdrop. The jacuzzi and the dual vanity setup form the centrepiece of indulgence, while the enclosed shower and toilet areas ensure privacy without compromising the openness of the layout. Intelligent lighting was incorporated to accentuate textures and create a soothing ambience,” shares Porwal.
The Layout and Design
The layout is thoughtfully zoned to provide distinct spaces for relaxation and practical use. The jacuzzi zone, complemented by an elegant dual vanity, acts as the focal point of the design. A private enclosure for the shower and toilet areas ensures functionality while maintaining visual coherence with the rest of the space.
The colour palette revolves around earthy tones, with a dominant use of natural stone in warm hues. The mosaic mural adds a vibrant yet sophisticated touch, creating a balance between minimalism and artistic expression. Lighting plays a critical role, with warm ambient lights accentuating the luxurious materials and creating a tranquil atmosphere.
