Winner of the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2025 in Miami under Future Projects – Commercial Mixed Use, Lone Lung Space by Gayathri & Namith Architects (GNA) reimagines a 105-acre former industrial site in Bengaluru as a vibrant ecological and cultural hub.

Envisioned as the city’s new “green lung,” the project transforms an abandoned factory landscape into a public commons where nature, community, leisure, and art converge. Led by the Government of Karnataka, the design integrates ecological restoration with inclusive programming and rich cultural cues.

Phase One introduces public destinations such as an Entrance Plaza, Open-Air Theatre, children’s play zones, and elevated tree-top walks. Phase Two converts historic factory structures into dynamic cultural and recreational spaces.

Designed as a zero-waste campus, Lone Lung Space stands as both an environmental catalyst and a civic celebration—reviving Bengaluru’s legacy as the Garden City for generations to come.
