Duravit’s Balcoon Bathroom Range by Patricia Urquilo
Duravit’s Balcoon bathroom range, designed by Patricia Urquiola, blends modernity with timeless elegance, offering a minimalistic yet strong design identity. The designer has created an earthy terracotta shade for the ceramic objects that showcases their natural tactility and unique materiality.
The Balcoon countertop basins combine shape, colour and material to produce a harmonious and comprehensive work of art far removed from short-term trends. Patricia Urquiola has created an impressive architectural moment by placing round and oval washbasins on a square plinth, creating a sculptural focal point in the room that extends beyond mere function. Alternatively, all Balcoon ceramic objects are also available in classic White or White Satin Matt, opening up a wide range of design opportunities, the company stated.
The earthy terracotta shade Clay Terra Matt is an important detail of the Balcoon bathroom range. “So, too, is the interplay of two levels, which is implemented consistently on the washbasin, the toilet and the bidet. All ceramic objects in the collection come as standard with the hygienic, easy-to-clean DuraShield protective glaze, which makes everyday life just a little bit easier,” claimed the company.
With its integrated rear panel, the console is just one of the striking details of the Balcoon collection that creates a unique spatial dimension. It is overlaid with the drawer front and the open shelf beneath, it said.
The colour scheme of the nature-inspired Balcoon bathroom furniture comprises light, powdery nuances such as Ivory and Sand Beige. A soft, feminine atmosphere in the room is created in combination with ceramics in white. The handle-free aesthetic is a further expression of the clear and elegant concept.
“The washing area, with its two countertop basins, offers plenty of storage thanks to four large drawers – ideal for an organised and tidy bathroom. The single washing area with an open shelf exudes a sense of lightness and is perfect for small rooms,” stated Duravit.
Urquiola has also designed faucets for the washbasins and countertop basins, bidet, shower, and bathtub to match the minimalistic design of the Balcoon range. The elliptical handle transitions into the faucet body in a gentle curve, making it particularly pleasant to hold. Three surface variants – Chrome, Black Matt and Brushed Stainless Steel – give the bathroom furniture its finishing touch and complement the range’s harmonious colour spectrum.
“Balcoon is a versatile bathroom range in the medium price segment – the ideal choice for budget-friendly yet sophisticated bathroom design. Whether in a hotel, a residential construction project or a guest bathroom, the collection combines functionality with attractive design,” asserted the company.
