Contemporary Luxury Washroom
The USP of the project is the luxury elements in the washroom such as the use of Italian marble, an Italian chandelier, a showcase with Artefacts, lighting elements and marble inlays. The spatial quality of the washroom is sumptuous and spells luxury in every detail. It is certainly a wow space.
“The design brief was to design a luxury toilet along contemporary lines with dedicated spaces for each activity. We achieved it by using ultra-contemporary products, luxury materials and cutting-edge toilet fixtures,” shares Ponni Concessao.
The concept
Since the entire villa was designed along contemporary lines, it is only logical that the master toilet was also along contemporary lines as per the client’s brief. The concept is centred on Zen and every element is centred on the calmness and horizontal nature of Zen. Elements found in nature such as earth, sky and water are manifested in the design in terms of the use of materials and spatial volume of the washroom. The lulling nature of sand and water is enhanced by the use of the beige colour of the marble and depicted in the inlay patterns of the marble.
The colour scheme & highlight
Since the concept of the design centred on Zen and the experience of bathing in contemporary style beige was the central colour of the entire scheme. Bottocino marble with white off-white Thossus marble and dark brown Emprado marble inlays contrasted well with each other and emulated the sand and rock of nature. Bottocino marble with contrasting bands of brown Emprado formed highlights of the wall elevation. The showcase of artefacts with punched openings is the highlight of the entire wall elevation and indeed the entire washroom. The white false ceiling with the subdued recess housing the chandelier completes the luxurious look and feel of the washroom.
