Young and Bold

The designer wanted to achieve a young and bold look for this bathroom. Being a boy’s space none of the materials or design elements could have been soft, delicate or subtle in nature. The length of the bathroom was short compared to the width which gave almost a squarish look to the bathroom. The length being short there was no chance of giving a basin counter. Hence, a pedestal basin with a ceiling faucet was planned which defined the neat look of the basin area instead of cluttering the space with conventional elements.

The rather squarish volume of the bathroom was split into two masses to visually enhance the length of the bathroom. The idea of running the tiles over the ceiling gave an edge to this bathroom design.

The canary colour flanked by salt and pepper combination complements each other very well. The bath fittings and ceramic ware in black perfectly fit this colour palate. Salt and pepper tiles are used in a pixelated format to add textured dimensions to the space.

“Wear it on your sleeves” is the theme for the happening son’s room. All his attributes are floating around in the room.  The latent jade colour and the red are a breath of fresh air, compared to the conventions. A blossoming tree branch spans the feature wall of this bedroom which plays a vital role in marking the cheery décor.  The bathroom also echoes the same theme with the wood adding the necessary warmth. The photo frame basin elevated against the window gives the opportunity of using the ceiling to hoist the mirror and the floor faucet flanks the basin. The design idea of this bathroom is rooted in making use of the window wall for the basin.
