Bringing the Outside Inside

The star(s) of the washroom, is the gorgeous matt black and crystal mosaic tiles that are spread on the floor and the walls, with the gorgeous pattern that marks not just the circulation but also provides an element of subtle drama.

“The washroom has been planned to look and act as a retreat for the lady of the house. A custom-made foot bath with water jets placed strategically to provide some much-needed relaxation, which sits right beside a vertical garden inside the washroom inundated with natural rocks and pebbles to create a feeling of ‘Outside in’ while being ensconced in the comfort of your own house,” shares Shivani.

The matt black look continues in the twin wash basin that sits atop a flawless white Corian counter, with crystal fixtures that literally add a sparkle to the space.

The design:

The designers used the large washroom space as an opportunity to play with a matt black concept, which was highlighted with crystals in the flooring, walls and even the fixtures. “We created a flowing pattern in the mosaic tiles, three streams of sparkling crystal tiles amidst the black, one going towards the Water closet, one towards the shower, and one towards the foot bath. The shower partition features a splash of the tiles that are on the flooring, creating an illusion that the tiles splashed on the glass, and left droplets on the surface,” adds Shivani.

The fittings and the lights are in a crystalline finish to give the washroom some glamour and shimmer. One of the highlights of the washroom is the custom-made foot bath, which is clad in the same mosaic, which makes it blend in and not feel like an intrusive element in the otherwise uninterrupted flow of the washroom. It is fitted with strategically placed water jets that massage your feet as well as the nicest spa in town. Making a space look lavish is fairly straightforward, but we also wanted to add an element of serenity and calm in the lap of luxury.
