Home Spa

The client had a concern…a barber would come home every day to shave the menfolk; a masseuse and beautician were also regulars. All this activity required a private space without disturbing the other members of this multi-generational family.

We suggested a common home spa to create an enjoyable private space for all these activities and added to it a jacuzzi and multi-jet shower. Water is a limited resource and all our cities suffer from acute water shortage. We designed all the bedroom attached washrooms with water-saving showers and devices and confined the luxury of the jacuzzi and rain shower to just this one common washroom. So, as a break from the busy routine, one could retreat into the common home spa and enjoy a massage or water therapy experience.

We created a nature connection through the materials used. Care, however, was taken to use materials which were easy to clean and maintain, especially not absorbing stains caused by oils or hair dyes. The earth-toned palette heightened a sense of relaxation and calm!
