Washroom for Toddler

This washroom is for a 1-year-old toddler. “The brief given to us was that it should be playful but not childish. It should be still apt for the child when she grows to become a teenager. Hence, the colour palette comprised mosaic tiles in hues and shades of blues splashed across the four walls and the floor of the bathroom. The fittings were electroplated in a tangerine red. The built-in bathtub is also doubled up as a shower with a wooden seat that folds upwards to form a vanity counter. The mirror of the vanity counter also doubled up as a glass partition for the shower area. Fun animal accessories and floor mats added quirk to the space” shares Huzefa Rangwala.

The USP of the project is that it almost looks like a blue jewel box of sorts which contains all these elements. The monolithic feel is enhanced by the singular colour palette. The key highlights are the electroplated fixtures and the patterns of the Piccolo tiles on the floor and the walls. “Our approach was to make the space flexible, open and easily adaptable to our client’s tastes and preferences as she grows and develops her own taste and likings,” opines the designer.
